I started collecting ingredients for the leeks' salad. So, the leeks (sliced) are obvious: Zaczęłam gromadzić składniki do surówki z porów. I'm still working on the beets but as I'm planning to enter them to the competition I can't share them with you now. So they are perking in the pot and we can play with something else. Cały czas jeszcze pracuję nad buraczkami, ale ponieważ chcę je zgłosić na pewien konkurs nie mogę ich na razie tutaj pokazywać. Niech się więc gotują z boku na wolnym ogniu, a my możemy pobawić się czymś innym. When you see this combination of fabrics what do you see? Dark green forest, white snow and something in between? No... You see leeks, right? Kiedy patrzycie na taką kombinację tkanin, to co widzicie? Ciemnozielony las, biały śnieg i coś pomiędzy? Nie... Widzicie pory, prawda? Same with me. I see leeks and I eat them very often at this time of a year. So now it is time to sew something with them. As I don't have leeks at my Benary's calendar I was looking for them in the web and found such a nice Medieval picture of leeks. Another inspiration... Ja mam tak samo. Widzę pory i je

Yes, it is done finally. With parsley, black pepper and some other spices (read: stitches) like cucumber's skin. Tak, nareszcie skończona. Z pietruszką, pieprzem i paroma innymi przyprawami (czytaj: ściegami) jak na przykład skórka ogórka. Even the plate received some finishing touches :) Talerzyk też troszkę podhaftowałam :) And if you wonder how did I carry the herrings from the market here is the picture. And another idea for the quilt inspired by medieval illustration. A jeśli ciekawi Was jak przytaszczyłam śledzie z rynku to wyglądało to mniej więcej tak jak na obrazku poniżej. Widzę w tym pomysł na nową pracę inspirowaną średniowieczną ilustracją. Bon apetite! Smacznego!

Yes, it is quilted and ready to serve! Tak, przepikowana i gotowa do podania! But don't you think it screams for some green? Let's say parsley? Ale czy nie wydaje Wam się, że ona domaga się czegoś zielonego? Powiedzmy, pietruszki? I will add it with hand embroidery. So, it's not ready yet, needs some spices! Wyhaftuję to ręcznie. Czyli nie jest jeszcze gotowa, potrzebuje przypraw!

Yes, you guessed it (oh well, nobody even tried) - it is herring's salad with beets! Tak, zgadliście (no dobrze, nikt nawet nie próbował) - to sałatka śledziowa z burakami! So - the herrings, the beets (all sliced), some sauer cream (or yoghurt) and... voila! Ok, maybe not yet, some hard boiled eggs, potatos, pickled cucumber are needed too :) A więc - śledzie, buraki (wszystko pokrojone), trochę kwaśnej śmietany (albo jogurtu) i... gotowe! No dobrze, może jeszcze nie do końca, jakieś jajk0 na twardo, ziemniaki i kiszone ogórki też są potrzebne :) And the onion will come later. Now everything is appliqued and longs for some quilting! A cebula przyjdzie później. Na razie wszystko jest naaplikowane i czeka na pikowanie!

No prizes for a good guess, just your satysfaction :) Możecie spróbować zgadnąć co też takiego gotuję teraz z buraków - tak to wygląda na talerzu. Ale żadnych nagród za prawidłową odpowiedź, tylko satysfakcja :)
