The Textile Cuisine

Initially I wanted to make new hen ornaments. But the more I looked around, the more hens I saw (just check out my "Hen House" on Pinterest!) and the more I wanted something more than just ornaments. And the longing for spring made me to work in green. So the first idea was born: Początkowo chciałam zrobić nowe ornamenty. Ale im dłużej kombinowałam, im dłużej się rozglądałam (zobaczcie mój "Hen House" na Pintereście!), tym bardziej chciałam czegoś bardziej niż ornamenty. A tęsknota za wiosną popycha mnie do pracy w zieleni. I tak się urodził pierwszy pomysł: Green grass, blue sky and white hens. Zielona trawa, błękitne niebo i białe kury. Some bits of red and black made it singing: Odrobina czerwieni i czerni podostrzyła kolory: But after finishing it started its own life... Ale po skończeniu, praca zaczęła żyć własnym życiem... What they were talking about? Oh, I got it... O czym one tak gadają? Ach, już wiem... Love..... So here we go: M

I know, last post was one moth ago. Oh well... But I have a good excuse - homeworks (or even houseworks). Do you remember this old post when I declared my will to participate in the "Home Is Where The Quilt Is" project? Here you see my entry :)  Wiem, ostatnia notka była miesiąc temu. No cóż... Ale mam dobre usprawiedliwienie - prace domowe (czy raczej domkowe). Pamiętacie ten stary post , w którym zapowiadałam chęć wzięcia udziału w projekcie "Home Is Where The Quilt Is" ? Oto mój domek :) I titled it "Real Homes Wear Quilts" and I know it arrived safe and sound. I also sent my entry for another contest (accepted!) but can't show it publicly yet. And working on this house resulted in some side effects :) Zatytułowałam go "Real Homes Wear Quilts" i wiem już, że bezpiecznie dotarł na miejsce. Udało mi się też wziąć udział w jeszcze jednym konkursie (i przeszłam!), ale tego nie mogę na razie pokazać. A praca nad tym domkiem ma pewne

My today's etsy treasury was inspired entirely by the weather :) Despite our hopes for early spring winter still keeps with us. It shouldn't be a problem for someone born in February, but well, a bit of sunshine wouldn't really hurt too :) Thank you all for the B-day wishes! Seems that I'm not alone in longing for more art in my life. And look at the best gifts I received: from my daughter Moja dzisiejsza kolekcja na etsy inspirowana była całkowicie przez pogodę :) Mimo naszych nadziei na wczesną wiosnę, zima nie odpuszcza. Niby nie powinien to być problem dla kogoś urodzonego w lutym, ale cóż, odrobina słońca też by nie zaszkodziła :) Serdecznie dziękuję za urodzinowe życzenia! Wygląda na to, że nie jestem osamotniona w pragnieniu większej obecności sztuki w moim życiu. To show you my fishes :) Here they are - in full glory. I showed them on Jariba Market and people liked them very much. I'm developing this idea so the new year at my shop will start with fishes (and hearts, of course, but that's a separate chapter). Pokazać moje ryby :) Oto one - w pełnym blasku. Pokazałam je na Jaribie i bardzo się wszystkim podobały. Cały czas pracuję nad tym pomysłem, więc nowy rok w moim sklepie zacznie się rybami (i serduszkami, oczywiście, ale to osobny rozdział). They are about 14 cms long and 6 cms wide, made out of silk and totally adorable (if I do say so myself) :) The down side of fishes and all my small etsy items is, that they didn't leave any time for making bigger pieces. So this year I didn't even make Christmas quilt for myself :( I also didn't send a single card to anybody :( But it is Christmas time. The only solution is to wish you all Merry Christmas with these small ornaments made BEFORE etsy took my whole artistic life :)

Unfortunately you both voted for set #2 (what is so special in this set???), but Potterjotter said, she can take anything, so she will have set #1 :) So now, Potterjotter and jednoiglec it is your part - give me your addys (bewu@a21.pl) so I can mail the ornaments on 1st of December. This was taken yesterday on my balkony. Nasturtium in November? Yes, why not? Here, in the Textile Cuisine we are prepared for the flowers because... it is Birthday time! Yes, the first post of this blog was done on 15th of November 2009. Seems like ages to me. But I still remember my doubts about starting a blog :) And now the only thing I can think of is a big "thank you" to my readers and viewers. Thank you for your interest, support, inspiration.
